For this project I was tasked to create a bilingual booklet using Canada's First State of Youth Report, published by the Government of Canada in 2021. This project presented a few challenges to overcome such as using both english and french text with french being on average 20% longer than english. Along with multiple languages I was challenged to create a multi page document that balanced text, image and illustration.
With french being 20% longer than english I worked to keep the same subheads next to each other at all times. This created symmetry within the document even if the french text hung a bit longer than its partnered english text.
The solution to balancing text and image in a multipage document was a lot of planning and sketching layouts. This allowed for experimentation within the booklet.
